Basic Guidelines and Policies:

1.  INCLEMENT WEATHER:  On days of inclement weather, particularly snow days, call an hour before class to see if class will be held that day. If there is no class, we will put a message on the answering machine indicating that the yoga class will be cancelled that day.

If there is no message indicating cancellation, the class is on.

OTHER REASONS FOR CANCELLATION: One Sunday, my street was in good condition, and I was ready to teach, but several students called to say they would not make it due to fatigue after shoveling snow all day, so if too many students can't attend, I will also cancel and reschedule the class.

Please call my number 978-897-1150 for updates! If there is no answer, please try again - sometimes a call comes in when the computer is dialed out, so the answering machine does not pick up.

2.  Absentee/Make-Up Policy. If you register for a session, you are committing to come to the classes in that session. If you know you cannot make a class, you may give your spot to a friend as a gift (just tell them how to get here, and they must fill out a registration and release form when they get here) or call someone on the waiting list to take your spot for you.  At the beginning of each session, I will email a copy of the contact names and numbers on the waiting list to any students who are interested.

3.  Waiting List - If you are on the waiting list for a class, you agree that your name and telephone number/email may be given to students already registered for the class, in order to contact you to take their place if they can not attend a class.  Students on the waiting list are given first priority as space becomes available in classes.

4.  NEW STUDENTS: Please complete a Registration Form & Medical Form

5.  WHAT TO WEAR: Loose, comfortable exercise clothing.

6.  WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a blanket and a mat, a water bottle, and a notebook and pen or pencil.  For Power Yoga or Dynamic Yoga, a hand towel and face cloth are recommended.

7.  MEALS: It is recommended that you practice yoga on an empty stomach. After a full meal, wait 2 to 4 hours to practice yoga. After a light meal, wait 1 and a half to two hours to practice. If you are hungry before yoga, have a LIGHT snack, such as a glass of juice or a few slices of fruit

8.  SETTLING IN: When you enter the classroom, leave your worldly cares and troubles outside the door. Picture yourself entering an environment of peace and relaxation. Lie down quietly on your mat or blanket, relax, and allow yourself to enter into the experience of being in the “here and now”.  Some students are stretching or meditating before class.  Please be considerate and keep social conversations to a minimum as you enter the yoga studio.

9.  HOLDING ONTO THE BENEFITS: After the relaxation at the end of the class, try to continue to experience the feeling of relaxation and well being by maintaining silence as much as possible.

10.  QUESTIONS: Please ask questions about anything that is not clear to you! I often remain after class for several minutes, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have! You may also contact me by email or call me.

11.  PRACTICE: To receive the greatest benefit from this course, it is preferable that you practice daily what you are learning in class (at LEAST 3 times a week).
