Point Yoga Teacher Training Program. Not all the instructors listed may
present at every training (due to scheduling issues, time, etc.) and you may see
some instructors who are not listed below, but this gives you a good idea of our
amazing faculty!

Alexandra Howard
Alexandra is a certified Sivananda teacher and has
been studying different types of Yoga and meditation for 15 years, and
taught for 5 years. Her interest is in finding quietness on a physical
and emotional level during her vinyasa classes. She currently works at
McLean Hospital as a clinical research assistant to help find natural
remedies for mental illness and
she is also a molecular biologist. Focal Point Yoga Staff feel that she is an amazing, and very down to earth instructor, who is clear and
direct, with a deep understanding.

Alice Heller Alice Heller has been dancing and performing West African dance for 15 years.
She is currently dancing with Under the Sun Dance and Drum Troupe led by Fatou
-Carol Sylla as well as her own troupe, Teriya. She has also performed with
Aconcone dance group directed by Master Ibrahima Camara as well as others.
teachers: Fatou N'daiye, Aisha Sanga, Mohamed Kalifa Camara and Seydou
Coulibaly. Besides African-based dance and drumming, Alice's studies include
jazz, funk, improvisational dance as well as gymnastics. She has been teaching
in the area for over six years sharing her passion for this art form and culture
through classes, workshops and facilitating drum/dance circles making the
experience accessible to all.

Beth "Brahmi" Gold-Bernstein
Beth “Brahmi”
Gold-Bernstein is the director of Kali
Ray TriYoga
Center in Waltham. Beth has been practicing yoga since 1975, and has been
studying with Kali Ray since 1993. She is certified in Basics through Level
3, and is on teacher training staff. Beth is also co-president of the
MassYoga Network.

Beth Rigby Beth Rigby is Creator and Founder of Global Dance ~ Where Yoga Meets Dance,
The Movement & Manifestation Method, the Director of Sedona/Grand Canyon Healing
Retreat Adventures, a top-rated Program Director at the Kripalu Center for Yoga
& Health and a certified Kripalu Yoga and DansKinetics Instructor. She is
intuitively gifted and a master at moving all ages, shapes and sizes into a
profound state of freedom and well-being through movement. Her classes warm the
heart and calm the mind. Beth directs teacher trainings and retreats worldwide,
has taught over 2,000 classes since 1995, and is based in Sedona, AZ. She has
created a successful business following her heart and loving coaches others to
do the same.

Bethann Rechner Bethann Rechner is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher, having completed
certification in August 1999 at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Since
January 1996, Bethann has studied various styles of yoga, including, Kripalu,
Iyengar, Svaroopa and Ashtanga with such teachers as Beryl Bender Birch and Thom
Birch, Doug Swenson, David Life and Sharon Gannon, Stephen Cope, Anna Forrest,
Rodney Yee, and Baron Baptiste. Bethann leads group classesprivately and at
health clubs, corporate yoga classes, as well as workshops and private yoga
sessions in and around Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sessions primarily
focus on alignment, balance and opening the heart through relaxation and
meditation. Bethann holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in English from Boston
College and enjoys using language to be precise in her instruction, but also to
find the words to help open up the spirit through poetry. Bethann has also
completed graduate level coursework in education towards an M.Ed. at Boston
College, and brings that knowledge into her teaching to make experiences
accessible to many learning styles. Bethann is a member of the Kripalu Yoga
Teacher Association as well as on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts
Yoga Network. She is CPR certified and insured for liability through the Sports
& Fitness Insurance Corporation.

Bhavani Lorraine Nelson Bhavani Lorraine Nelson,
a Kripalu program director for 12 years and former resident, has practiced
and led various forms of meditation for more than 30 years. She’s a master
singer and songwriter who has recorded numerous albums of songs, chants and
sounding experiences.

Daniel Orlansky Daniel Orlansky M.A. teaches Yoga in Boston and Europe. He is certified in
Meridian Yoga, Kali Ray TriYoga, and Kundalini Yoga, and is a graduate of the
Boston Shiatsu School. His degree is in Dance Therapy, and he has been a
visiting lecturer in movement studies at Tufts University. He has taught for
twelve years in many locations including the Kripalu Center and is currently on
the staff of several yoga teacher training programs in the Boston area.

David Taft
David Taft is a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher and a Feldenkrais Method
Practitioner, who has runt he Hudson Yoga Center and taught yoga at Assabet
Education for over 7 years. He has been on numerous meditation
retreats lasting for 3 days to 1 week, and has a wonderful blending of yoga
and Feldenkrais that promotes the greatest health to the body.

Eileen Ladwig MS, OTR/L, RYT Eileen Ladwig MS, OTR/L, RYT is an Occupational Therapist, Craniosacral
Therapist and Yoga instructor. Eileen received her Raja Ashtanga yoga
certification through Focal Point Yoga in Stow Massachusetts. Eileen has studied
a variety of yoga styles including Kripalu, Kundalini, Kali Ray Tri Yoga, and
Power Yoga and uses an eclectic approach to her teaching. Personally, Eileen
found that a consistent yoga practice combined with occasional craniosacral
therapy treatments was the answer to her history of chronic neck and back pain.
This realization and the desire to help others with similar issues was the
inspiration which led Eileen to pursue teaching yoga. Eileen brings a strong
background in anatomy and physiology to her yoga teaching emphasizing safety as
she guides her students to greater degrees of strength and flexibility.

Eileen Press M.D., C.A.P. Eileen Press M.D., C.A.P. is a retired physician who has studied and
practiced Ayurveda for many years. She is a retired surgeon (M.D.). She is
certified in Avurveda from the American Institute of Vedic Studies and has lived
and traveled in India. She is a student of Dr. David Frawley, the foremost
expert on Avurveda in the west. She currently practices Ayurveda in Acton, MA.

Gail D Walsh Gail D Walsh is a Kripalu certified Yoga instructor with over 17 years of
yoga experience. Kripalu is the yoga of compassion, and deeper awareness. Gail
combines her Kripalu training with her background in Ashtanga and Pilates to
create a dynamic but nurturing yoga practice designed to create opening in the
body and the mind. She has studied for the past three years with David Swenson,
America's premier Ashtanga teacher, and is certified in primary and second
series Ashtanga. In addition, she is available for private instruction and
on-site corporate classes, and offers week-end workshops in ashtanga yoga and

Gene Pacelli Gene is
a highly experienced instructor who has studied yoga for over 25 years, and
is part of a spiritual community with a guru. He has touched the lives of
many students over his years of teaching. Gene is an experienced and
humble instructor.

Dr. Jeff Robichaud
Dr. Jeff Robichaud is head of the department of chiropractic medicine at the
Concord Clinic in Concord, MA. He has been in private practice since 1986,
and holds degrees from The University of New Hampshire, and The Canadian
Memorial Chiropractic College. His specialty is musculoskeletal medicine,
and he joins the teaching faculty as a lecturer on spinal anatomy. Dr.
Robichaud's clinical interests are in the areas of fibromyalgia, and acute
injury- with an emphasis on self care programs.

Jim Paisner
Jim Paisner teaches and presents workshops in this area. Jim is
certified in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition, and has studied with David Swenson
and Richard Freeman. He has had additional training from Stephen Cope, Jeff
Migdow and Donna Farhi, among others. He integrates his study of the
Alexander Technique with his teaching of yoga, focusing on touch as a way to
communicate to students at a deep non-verbal level.

John Featherstone John Featherstone has been studying Yoga for 20 years with his respected
teacher Dr. V.S. Rao of High Tech Yoga Institute of America. John has also
studied with Swami Satchinanda, Brahmananda Sarasvati and Vyaas Houston. John
Co-directs Frog Pond Yoga in Princeton, MA with his wife Diane.

Jonathan Glass
Jonathan Glass, M.Ac., Lic.Ac.,
is a Master Acupuncturist, licensed massage therapist, and certified in
Ayurveda, Polarity, and Hypnotherapy. He is on the faculty of the New
England School of Acupuncture and the New England Academy of Yoga.
Jonathan studied at Heartwood
Institute in California, at the Worsley Institute of Classical Acupuncture
in Florida, The College of Traditional Acupuncture in England and the
Academy of Five Element Acupuncture in Florida. He has also trained
extensively in Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation in India, Europe, and through
the American Institute of Vedic Studies and The Academy Shudda of Ayurveda.

Judy O'Leary Thapa Judy O'Leary Thapa is a certified Sivananda Yoga Instructor and certified in
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT) Practitioner with a practice in Newton and at
the Arlington Center in Arlington. After graduating from Phoenix Rising, she
mentored PRYT students in their final level for certification. Judy has been
practicing yoga since 1995. She teaches at the Oak Square YMCA, the Mt. Auburn
Club in Watertown, and the St. Ignatius Church in Newton. She is a student of
Reiki and completed the first degree of the Usui system in May 2002. She also
has a background in teaching languages and working with children with special

Julie D. Bonnici Julie D. Bonnici is a certified instructor in Hatha Yoga in the Anusara
Style, Kripalu, and Chakra Yoga. Her intention is to share her love and
excitement for the practice of yoga, bring healing through awareness, open the
body and free the spirit. Julie continues to deepen her yogic knowledge with
on-going training in Anusara Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Sat Nam Rasayan (Vibrational
Healing), and teaching at Yoga Teacher Trainings.

Kathryn Curtis
Kathryn Curtis
studied in NYC at White Cloud Yoga Center, with many well known dancers and
yogis. She has practiced and taught yoga for 15 years, and is also a
Shiatsu Therapist, and an Ayurvedic Masseuse who can do Pancha Karma with an
Ayurvedic Practitioner. Kathryn is also a pranic healer and energy worker,
with an amazing understanding of nadis, chakras, and energy bodies.
Her yoga teaching style incorporates her training in Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Power Yoga along with other
forms and draws on her experience in the healing arts. Her style is at once
meditative and rigorously strengthening. |

Kim Ahouse Creighton Kim Ahouse Creighton has had a long time interest in the body and how it
works, fueled primarily by her various interests and pursuits. Over the years
Kim has trained as a competitive athlete in a variety of sports, pursued dance
as a hobby, worked as a certified fitness instructor (AFAA), bodyworker (Swedish
Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, & Reflexology), and yoga teacher (Frog Pond Yoga
Center, Princeton, MA). Now she uses her personal and academic understanding of
anatomy to teach others about the human body. Her classes strive to provide
individuals with knowledge of fundamental body structures and safe movement that
honors those structures. She currently teaches the anatomy and physiology
portion of two yoga teacher training programs as well as assisting Kripalu¹s 50
hour anatomy and 50 hour physiology courses for advanced yoga teachers and
bodyworkers.

Linda Rice
Linda Rice is a Certified Frog Pond Yoga Teacher, who has
studied yoga and meditation for over 20 years. She is an artist and also
travels to various locations where she can help native peoples alleviate
poverty situations of hunger and ill health.

Loreli Voltmer Loreli Voltmer (Siri Atma Kaur) is certified in Kundalini Yoga by the
Kundalini Yoga Research Institute of New Mexico. She is particularly keen on
bringing an awareness of the diversity of Kundalini Yoga to her students, and
tailors class sessions to student interest and ability. Loreli enjoys teaching a

Maria Skinner Maria Skinner is a Certified Nia Instructor (Blue Belt) who's been practicing
in the Boston Area for 5 years. Nia: Neuromuscular Integrative Action
incorporates several disciplines, including martial arts, yoga, and ethnic and
modern dance to provide a movement practice that addresses the health of the
entire body. Maria comes from a background of ethnic dance and contact
improvisation. She is devoted to facilitating experiences where the joy, power
and strength of the body, mind and soul are celebrated.

Michelle Laura Michele Laura is a certified Raja
Ashtanga Yoga instructor, who has studied Chakras and Movement for over 20
years. She has taught the popular Chakra workshop with a Chakra-Dance-Movement
portion to connect with the spiraling wheels of energy in our bodies to Yoga
Teacher Training workshops with great acclaim. Michele is also a Life Coach
and a member of the Drum & Dance community of Greater Boston.

Rich Chapelle Rich Chapelle is a Kripalu Certified Yoga Teacher and has been teaching for
four years. Rich has also studied many different styles of yoga, including;
Anusara, Vinyasa, Iyengar and Power Yoga. His teaching philosophy is that anyone
can do yoga, it is not about what you look like but about what you feel and
experience.

Sean Casey Leclaire Sean Casey Leclaire is an inspirational speaker, workshop leader,life coach
and yoga teacher. His company Best Practices is dedicated to supporting people
in transition individuals and organizations called to inner transformation,
mindfulness, and healing. A Canadian, Sean lives in rural New England, close to
his beloved son, Beau. His first book "Hug an Angry Man And You Will See He
Is Crying" has been released in May 2003.

Sheila Walsh
Sheila teaches a dynamic vinyasa (power)
yoga, with emphasis on core stability. She is a compassionate instructor
who is enthusiastic about encouraging students to deepen their own
practice. She is a certified Raja Ashtanga Yoga teacher with her own
studio in Brookline New Hampshire, and has been practicing yoga for 7 years.

Sipho Bellinger Sipho Bellinger, a professor of history at Suffolk Unversity, has been
playing drums in the Greater Boston area for sixteen years. Sipho received his
musical training from the Universal Vibrations School of Oral Tradition with
Nurudafina P. Abena, where he studied West African and African Diaporan
(Afro-Cuban, African American) music and instruments. He has also studied
drumming in Senegal, West Africa. As a performer Sipho has been a member of
Silimbo D'Adeane West African Dance Company (Boston, MA), Sankofa Kuumba
Cultural Arts Consortium (Hartford, CT), Roots Uprising - a collection of
dancers, musicians and wordsmiths (Boston, MA), and Trytone Creative Music
Ensemble (Hartford, CT). He is currently a member of Soli Soma Djembe Orchestra,
based in Hartford, CT.

Yoganand Yoganand is one of the Directors of Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Center
in Lennox, MA and is one of the primary influences in yoga today. Many yoga
students and teachers find that Yoganand has such a tremendous understanding of
yoga, and breadth of knowledge, that he can address many of our questions and
concerns in a practical manner that displays his experience and knowledge with
humility and grace.
