YOGA KIDS - Yoga Kids is the BEST children's Yoga Video
available today. It makes yoga fun and accessible for children ages
3-9. The children in the video are the yoga instructors for most
postures. This is fun, entertaining, and delightful. It is very
reasonable priced ($10 to $12 or so) EIEIYOGA - This video is for children age 2-7. If the
children are older than 7, this may not appeal to them, but it is good for the
little ones. Yoga Oki-Doki leads the children through a series of Yoga
poses with Yogi's friends - a 7 foot tall Rastafarian Rooster (complete with
dreadlocks) called "Rasta the Rooster", and a bovine "Miss
Piggy" called "How Now the Mooooo Cow" teach the kids how to
"play yoga". The style of this video are reminiscent of the
Captain Kangaroo Children's show. The yoga instruction in this video is
not as good as Yoga Kids, but it is entertaining for children. Price is
about $13. BOOKS click on the title or the picture for more information or to buy the book Hatha Yoga for Kids, by Kids by the Children of Yogaville This is pure Hatha Yoga by young people who know it well. The clear photographs will inspire children to try these asanas (postures) themselves. The text is simple and direct; it speaks to kids in their own language. The youngsters in this book are good at Hatha and have fun doing it. The regular practice of Hatha Yoga by children can help them to experience happy, healthy, successful lives. I feel that this is the BEST yoga book I have found, but it takes Amazon.com a couple of weeks to send it to you, since they do not usually have it in stock. Cost $14
Yoga for Children by Stella Weller These exercises provide even the shyest and least athletically-inclined children with the opportunity to express their feelings and give free rein to their imagination through body movement. $14 I like the Mary Stewart Book (above) better, but this is also a good Children's Yoga book!

ages 6-10. One side of each doublepage spread features a painting of an animal
(a giraffe, a lion, an alligator, etc.) that is colorful and clear. On the
facing page are step-by-step instructions for a yoga position based on the
animal, accompanied by stickfigure diagrams and a photo of a child demonstrating
the position. about $12
