  4. Developing a Home Practice:  Learn to use simple items at home, and find brief moments during your day to gradually develop your own practice and knowledge of what your body needs to stay healthy and happy daily!

  5. Full Ashtanga Primary Series:  Guided, not Mysore Style.  Ready for a challenge in strength, cardiovascular health, discipline and letting go of some ego?  This 2 to 2.5 hour workshop will take you step by step through the entire Asthanga Primary Series (which is the ORIGINAL POWER YOGA - as practiced by Madonna, Sting, Woody Harrelson, Willem Dafoe and more).  It's not easy, but there are many methods of adjusting and going step by step as you grow into this practice.  Pre-Requisite - the ability to do 5 Sun Salutations A and 5 Sun Salutations B.    This workshop is perfect for those of you already practicing Ashtanga who need help with certain asanas or more detail, or great for physically fit beginner to intermediate students interested in one of the most intense practices in yoga

    1.      a) 5 sun a and 5 sun b are the warm up for the practice

    2.      b) standing sequence of 20 asanas (poses)

    3.      c)there are 38 seated Asanas with sun salutations with 18 vinyasas (sun salutations) between asanas - classically if you do the sequence, you would do vinyasas with sun salutations between left and right sides of certain asanas.  If you get tired, it is okay to skip an asana and prepare for the next - this is a fast paced sequence but incredibly healthful

    4.      d) Closing Sequence - 16 asanas and then Savasana (corpse pose - relaxation)

  6. Yamas and Niyamas - the ten foundational principles of yoga which are guidelines to a healthy joyful confident path.  Handouts on these concepts and discussion of how we apply them in the modern day are included in this workshop, as are handouts on the principles the ancients felt were the foundation to enlightenment and joy.
  7. Yoga for Sciatica and Low Back Issues Focus exclusively on the wide range of asanas (poses), movements and techniques to facilitate healing and managing pain in the hips and low back. Discover the possibilities of living without pain.
  8. BEING IN THE MOMENT- PRINCIPLES OF MEDITATION:  3 Basic Methods of Meditation taught.  We begin with a brief discussion of the benefits of meditation then learn to quiet our chattering minds, slow our thoughts, and discover connection and how to open to your light inside and out.  As we learn meditation, we observe thoughts that go by first, and discover many of our own thoughts and self criticisms are untrue.  Our mind is like a puppy that needs to be trained to focus, and we learn to focus on being in the moment, the only place true peace is found.
  9. Tibetan Healing Light Meditation:  In a state of relaxation, we use visualization to open our healing energies and direct energy and healing light to our bodies to help with illness and to learn to channel energy to open to healing energy around us, in our bodies, hearts, minds and souls.
  10. Yoga for those in Difficult CircumstancesIf you are in an unhealthy circumstance - relationship, codependency, job, stress, difficult life in any area - it can be overwhelming.  Learn to find peace and joy within yourself, and find the support and confidence to make healthy decisions a little at a time.   2 hour workshop.
  11. Anger? In Yoga?: How do we apply principles, techniques and methods to quiet our emotions, still the chattering mind, be non-reactive and make good decisions?  A calm balanced mind is the best place from which to make the best choices, and they are not often easy- we must face reality and respond to what is real and true, not to our own reactive thoughts.  This can be challenging when anger is for good reason, or it is time to make changes and it is easier to blame others or use frustration to get stuck and not grow.  Several yogic techniques can help tremendously.  This is taught in a discreet, safe, non-judgmental atmosphere.  We are all in it together trying to do the best we can in this life.  Gain a few tools on your path to joy and learn to manage your life better.  Handouts provided.
  12. Ear Coning - Learn to use the ancient technique of Ear Coning (also called Ear Candling) to clear blocked energy channels.
  13.  Couples Yoga Workshop for Birth Preparation  - Beneficial at any point of the pregnancy.  This workshop is an opportunity for you and your partner to cultivate awareness, understanding and enjoyment of the birthing process.  The presence and support of a  partner is powerful for labor and birth.  In this workshop, partners gain greater understanding of how to support the birthing mother with confidence, sensitivity, and calm.  Couples who practice yoga together are more connected to one another, and partners feel more connected to the unborn baby.  Increase your connection with your body, your baby, and each other. Breath work, gentle yoga postures, discussion, vocal toning, meditation and massage enhance confidence in pregnancy, labor and birth. Support the low back and increase your repertoire of comfortable positions. Cultivate greater relaxation and learn safe and simple breathing techniques.  Calm and flexibility ease the birthing process, increasing the joy of giving birth to a new life.
